Chandigarh, March 30

A total of 452 traffic challans were issued and 41 vehicles impounded by the traffic police for various violations on Holi. Meanwhile, 425 TVIS (traffic violation information slip) challans — 351 for over-speeding and 74 other violations — were also issued.

As many as 459 traffic police personnel and Home Guards volunteers were deployed in the city during the festival. The police has set up 23 special nakas in different parts of the city, besides three mobile teams to check traffic violations.

During the drive, 452 vehicles — 234 two-wheelers, 211 four-wheelers and seven three-wheelers — were challaned for various traffic offences.
