Following a recent road accident near Surajpur on the Kalka-Shimla Highway, the Panchkula police launched a targeted traffic enforcement drive under the directive of Police Commissioner Sibash Kabiraj. The operation, led by Sub-Inspector Narendra Kumar, traffic in-charge for the area, focused on illegal roadside parking in the Surajpur zone.

During the campaign, five challans were issued to motorists found violating ‘No Parking’ rules. A dedicated rider has been deployed to monitor a two-kilometre stretch to deter such violations, while ‘No Parking’ signage has been installed to ensure visibility and compliance.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sukarpal Singh stated that the initiative is aimed at promoting road safety and encouraging adherence to traffic norms. “Illegal parking along roadsides invites accidents,” he said. “We appeal to citizens to use designated parking spaces and follow traffic regulations. Stern action will continue against those who flout the rules.”
