Diljit concert: 5 parking areas, traffic restrictions from 4 pm in Chandigarh

To prevent traffic disruptions and inconvenience to commuters, traders and residents of nearby sectors during Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s concert at the Exhibition Ground in Sector 34 on December 14, the UT police have decided to prohibit vehicle parking for audiences around the venue.

Five designated locations across the city will serve as parking areas, with shuttle bus service to ferry spectators to the venue.

Traffic diversions and restrictions will be implemented on several roads from 4 pm. Commuters are advised to avoid roads near the venue, including the Sectors 33-34 stretch, Piccadilly Chowk (Sector 20/21-33/34 Chowk) and New Labour Chowk (Sector 20/21-33/34 Chowk) after 4 pm.

The entry from the Sector 33/34/44/45 chowk to the 33/34 light point to New Labour Chowk; from the Sector-33/34 light point to the Sector-34/35 light point; from the Sham Mall T-point to the Polka turn will be restricted.

Traffic diversions will also be in place from Gaushala chowk (Sector-44/45/50/51) towards either Faidan or Kajheri chowk; from the Sector 44/45 light point towards South End or Gurdwara chowk; and from Bhawan Vidyalaya School T-point to Sector-33/45 chowk.
