500 liquor boxes seized in Mohali
Mohali, August 14
The district police today seized 500 boxes of Chandigarh-made smuggled liquor, being carried in a truck. The truck driver, identified as Ranjit Singh Yadav (27), a resident of Haryana, was arrested.
Kharar DSP Pal Singh said, “A blockade had been set up near Sunny Enclave. A truck (bearing Haryana registration number), coming from the Chandigarh side, was intercepted at the blockade. On checking, 500 boxes of Chandigarh-made whiskey, hidden inside the rice sack bags, were recovered.” The truck has been impounded and a case registered against the suspectat the Kharar city police station. — TNS
