The Municipal Corporation has issued 618 notices and challaned 52 residents for wasting water since April 15.

Under its ongoing drive against water wastage, the MC issued 43 notices and challaned four persons on Friday.

The notices have been issued to the residents who were found watering lawns and washing cars.

The MC has imposed a ban on the watering of lawns and washing of cars to prevent water shortage during summer.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
