The MC seized a massive quantity of banned plastic material from a shop in Sector 20.

A team comprising sanitary inspectors Himmat Singh, Lokesh Meena and Ashish Malik, and sanitary supervisor Amar Rana conducted a raid at Peekay Plastic and confiscated 520 kg of non-compostable plastic. The seized material was transported to the dry waste processing plant for shredding.

The action was part of the MC drive to eliminate the supply and use of banned plastic across the city.

MC Commissioner Amit Kumar warned that any sale or distribution of prohibited plastic would attract heavy penalties and legal consequences.
