Under the campaign against drugs, the district police have registered 400 FIRs and arrested 550 peddlers, while 250 addicts have been admitted to rehab centers. Illegal structures raised by five drug peddlers have also been razed.

SSP Subham Aggarwal while addressing a public meeting at Badali Ala Singh village said the war on drugs is being successfully implemented only due to the full support of the public. “They are giving feedback in large numbers so that the complete eradication of drug traffickers can be ensured,” he said.

He said the police have formed 434 village defence and 90 ward defence committees, organised 832 police-public meetings, 124 sampark meetings and 18 sports competitions to involve the masses in its campaign.
