550 Panchkula police personnel to keep vigil at 44 CET centres

With the Common Eligibility Test (CET) scheduled to be held across Haryana on July 26 and 27, the Panchkula Police have stepped up preparations to ensure the smooth and transparent conduct of the examination.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shrishti Gupta chaired a meeting with officials to review security and administrative arrangements.

A total of 44 exam centres have been designated in Panchkula, with around 550 police personnel deployed to maintain law and order. Rooftop surveillance using binoculars will also be conducted to monitor and immediately detect any suspicious activity or instances of cheating.

The DCP has instructed that physical inspections of all exam centres be carried out in advance to assess security arrangements. A special traffic plan has also been prepared to manage vehicular movement around examination venues, bus stands, and main roads.

Meanwhile, all ERV and PCR vehicle drivers have been directed to guide candidates and the public via loudspeakers. Strict action will be taken against vehicles parked haphazardly roadside as such blockages could prevent candidates from reaching their centres on time. Entry of private vehicles within a 500-metre radius of the exam centres will be prohibited, and candidates will be required to park their vehicles at designated locations.

The DCP added that any candidate facing difficulty en route may seek assistance from the nearest police officer, and help will be provided to ensure they reach their centre.
