6 booked for snatching Rs 45,000 from Mohali shopkeeper
The police have booked six unidentified persons for allegedly thrashing a city shopkeeper and members of his family before snatching his mobile phone and Rs 45,559 from the cashbox of the store.
According to the information, the victim, who has since been identified as Narinder Singh Pawar owns a store in Phase 10.
Narinder in his police complaint revealed that he had targeted him when he was at work around 6 pm.
The victim had told police that six unidentified youths arrived at the spot in an MUV and picked up a fight with him over the sale of a cigarette.
When the victim’s wife and son came to his rescue upon hearing the commotion at the shop, the accused miscreants allegedly attacked them as well.
Following a complaint from the victim, the Mohali police registerd a case under sections 126(2), 304, 351 (2), 191(3), 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Phase-11 police station.
Sharing further details about the investigation into the incident, the police said the teams are working on identifying and tracking down the accused with the help of the registration number of the vehicle.
