6 illegal structures brought down at Dadu Majra Colony
Chandigarh, June 22
During a special drive, encroachments on public land by six dwelling units were demolished at Dadu Majra Colony here today.
In one case, the demolition was carried out by the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB), while in five cases, the demolitions were carried out by the allottees themselves, said Yashpal Garg, Chief Executive Officer, CHB.
He said the CHB was computing the cost of demolition in one case, which would be recovered from the allottee and in case of its non-payment, the allotment was liable to be cancelled. Yesterday also, encroachments from government or public land in three cases were removed by the CHB at Dadu Majra Colony.
In all these nine cases, encroachments were made on the government or public land by constructing boundary wall, staircases, etc.
