6,105 appear for recruitment exam

As many as 6,105 candidates appeared for five subjects — TGT Science (Non-Medical), TGT Punjabi, TGT Mathematics, TGT Science (Medical) and TGT Social Studies/Geography, during the recruitment test for the 104 vacant posts of Trained Graduate Teachers in Samagra Shiksha, Chandigarh.

In all 10,657 candidates enrolled for the examination, which was conducted at various centres in two shifts. The complete work related to recruitment of TGT was assigned to a recruitment agency. Four senior officers of the Chandigarh Administration were appointed as independent observers at the exam centres.

Eighty police personnel were deputed for frisking candidates and to provide security at the examination centres. As per the department, no case of malpractice (impersonation/copying) or any irregularity was reported by observers of the Chandigarh Administration.
