From November 7 to 18, an 18-hour window will be operational, allowing flights from 5 am to 11 pm
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has allowed a seven-hour window for flight operations at Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport from October 26 to November 6 to facilitate passenger movement during the peak festival season. The airport will be available for flight operations from 5 am to 12 noon daily during this period.
From November 7 to 18, an 18-hour window will be operational, allowing flights from 5 am to 11 pm. Earlier, IAF had announced a complete closure of the airport for civilian flight operations for a two-week period for maintenance and repair of the runway at the single-strip airport. However, the maintenance project has been divided into phases.
The Air Force authorities have issued a revised NOTAM, stating the closure timings as follows: from October 26 to November 6, the airport will be closed from 12 noon to 5 am (the next day). From November 7 to 18, the airport will remain closed from 11 pm to 5 am (the next day) during low-traffic hours. During this phase, the airport will be available for flight operations for 18 hours a day.
