70 donate blood, 40 pledge organ

Chandigarh, June 12

To ensure adequate blood availability in the region, the Society United for Kindling Health (SUKH) Foundation on Saturday organised a blood and organ donation camp at Community Centre in Sector 22.

The camp was inaugurated by Prof Vipin Koushal, Additional Medical Superintendent, PGI, and Prof Santosh Kumar, Department of Urology, PGI. The duo was accompanied by Dr Pranay Mahajan, Joint Director, ROTTO, PGI. Professor Kumar encouraged others by donating blood and pledging his organs in the camp. The camp witnessed 70 blood and 40 organ donations.

The event was also supported by Geeta Kailash Memorial Foundation, which distributes free medicines in tricity. People who had recently recovered from Covid also signed up to donate plasma at the PGI.
