763 degrees awarded at PEC convocation

Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), the first academic institution to come up in Chandigarh in 1953, celebrated its 54th convocation today. Governor of Punjab and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria was the chief guest of the event.

Of total 763 degrees, 573 students received these in person and 190 were awarded the degree in absentia.

The Governor said PEC had a glorious legacy and its long journey of 103 years was filled with many ups and downs. The Director, Prof Rajesh Kumar Bhatia, talked about the vision of PEC through a number of accomplishments and a variety of activities performed in 2023-24.

The event started with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp and Saraswati Vandana.
