The accused was arrested on June 24 following a complaint by the mother of a minor girl, who alleged that he touched her seven-year-old daughter inappropriately. The counsel for the petitioner claimed that due to some misunderstanding the complainant had registered case against the accused.

The public prosecutor submitted that if given bail, the accused may influence the prosecution witnesses.

After hearing both sides, Swati Sehgal, Judge, Fast-Track Special Court, dismissed the bail application. —TNS
