Police said he had been drinking with friends on Friday night when a neighbour rebuked him for causing disturbance. In retaliation, he allegedly kidnapped the child, strangled him, and buried the body in a nearby forest.

The accused reportedly confessed during questioning. The infant’s body was recovered and sent to Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination before being handed over to the family. The accused was produced in court and remanded to six days’ police custody.
