Chandigarh, August 15

Chandigarh on Saturday recorded 81 fresh cases of COVID-19 taking the total tally in the Union Territory to 2,009.

The total number of active cases stands at 861 as 1,118 patients have been cured till date while 28 have succumbed to the virus.

As per the health officials, the new cases have been reported from Sector 32, 35, 38, 37, 40, 41, 26, 42, 21, 37, 27, 33, 7, 45, 15,12, 14, 18, 24, 38 West, 22, 23, 50, 56, 52, Industrial Area Phase 1, Mauli Jagran, Mani Majra, Maloya, Hallo Majra, Ram Darbar, Kishangarh, Dadumajra, PGI, Kajheri, Daria, and Bapu Dham.

Meanwhile, 27 patients were discharged on Saturday after they recovered from the infection.

A total of 20,520 people have been tested for novel coronavirus in the city so far.
