Chandigarh on Sunday reported 85 new cases of COVID-19 taking the total number of cases to 12,445 while two people lost their lives to the virus.
The death toll in the UT has risen to 174.
An 87-year-old female resident of Sector 19, a case of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension, and a 67-year-old male resident of Manimajra, a case of Coronary Artery disease and SARI, died at GMCH-32.
There are 1,673 active cases in the city while 10,598 have been cured till date.
Of the 85 new cases, 61 are male and 24 are female.
A total of 202 patients have been discharged, including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per Health Ministry guidelines.
