A good initiative

To keep tabs over underage driving in the city, the UT Education Department has asked all schools to constitute a road safety committee to identify students driving vehicles. It is a good initiative. It is commendable that the UT Administration and the traffic police are taking strict action against underage driving, which can become a cause of road mishaps. —Vidya Sagar Garg, Chandigarh

Roads in need of repair

Residents of DLF Valley, Bhagwanpur and other villages are at the receiving end of the apathy of the authorities. Roads near the Amravati police station that lead to DLF Valley and Bagwanpur are in a poor shape and full of potholes. No repair work is being undertaken by the authorities concerned. All resources and funds are being spent on the beautification of Panchkula and step-motherly treatment being meted out to the Kalka-Pinjore urban complex. —Col KS Bidhan (retd)

Potholed STRETCH IN SECTOR 29B

Roads in Sector 29-B are full of potholes in the wake of recent downpour in the city. The stretch from the government school to the traffic police lines is in a shambles and needs immediate repair. —Harpreet Singh Virdi
