A winning start for Krish at badminton tourney

Krish Patel of Himachal Pradesh defeated Ekambir Singh 15-10 15-4 to march ahead in the boys’ U-13 category on the opening day of the 1st North Zone Cash Prize Badminton Tournament, which is being organised by the Chandigarh Badminton Association.

Adrit Nakra recorded a 15-10 16-14 win over Maurya Mittal, while Patiala’s Kriday Jindal defeated Kartik Bansal 17-15 15-9. Panchkula’s Sehaj Thakur posted a 15-10 15-10 win over Viresh Jindal, and Nandeesh Kapoor stunned Divesh Raj Chauhan 15-7 15-9. Hriday posted an easy 15-9 15-2 win over Aryaveer Jain, Aarav Dhiman ousted Varun Sethi 15-8 15-4 and Viraj Singh beat Aviraj Singh 15-5 15-5.

In the boys’ U-17 event, Abhijay Anand faced a tough resistance before defeating Aditya Rasali 13-15 15-7 15-11, Zorawar Singh beat Aadit 15-4 15-6 and Atharv Sharma defeated Kartikaya Kapoor 15-12 15-13. Anubhav Tyagi also moved into the next round by defeating Vibhor 15-13 15-3, and Gurnoor Singh overpowered Hitesh 15-13 15-5. Madhav Jagga registered win against Lakshay Saini 15-1 15-1 in the boys’ U-11 event, while Pahulvir Singh defeated Kiaan Chaba 15-8 15-4.
