Aadhaar enrolment camp for visually impaired

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Regional Office, Chandigarh, today organised a special Aadhaar enrolment and update camp for visually impaired children at the Institute for the Blind, Sector 26, Chandigarh.

The initiative aimed to ensure that every child had access to an updated and valid Aadhaar, enabling them to avail of various welfare schemes and services linked to the digital identity ecosystem. Through the dedicated efforts of the UIDAI team, 35 mandatory biometric updates (MBUs) were successfully completed during the camp.

Speaking on the occasion, officials from UIDAI Regional Office, highlighted these initiatives and said these not only enhanced access to Aadhaar services, but also strengthen the government’s mission of “Digital India” and “Aadhaar for All”.

Dinesh K Kapila, senior vice-president of the Society for the Blind/Institute for the Blind, stated that the institute currently had 173 students.
