AAP accuses BJP of ignoring Chandigarh's civic issues
The party the only agenda listed for the MC meet was the construction of the VIP Road in Sector 2
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of running away from the discussion on public issues, broken roads in villages, colonies and sectors, increasing accident risks, or basic civic facilities.
The party’s local unit president Vijay Pal Singh said in the F&CC meeting of the Municipal Corporation (MC), the only agenda listed was the construction of the VIP Road in Sector 2.
Vijay Pal Singh said when AAP strongly raised the issue of road repair during the MC House meeting, the BJP-ruled administration murdered democracy by forcibly dragging AAP councilors out of the House using marshals, further adding, “ It has happened multiple times and clearly proves that BJP, has lost the courage to hear the voice of the people. If a proper road-repair roadmap is not announced immediately and the public issues are not addressed, AAP will launch a massive protest from the streets to the House.”
