AAP delegation takes up Chandigarh issues with Chief Secretary
Policy for contract workers, pension for widows discussed
A delegation of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by the party’s city unit president Vijaypal Singh, took up several long-pending issues pertaining to citizens, employees and pensioners during a meeting with the newly appointed UT Chief Secretary, H Rajesh Prasad, on Friday.
The delegation apprised the Chief Secretary of the need for proper implementation of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) to ensure cashless medical facilities for employees and pensioners, bringing the pension for widows, senior citizens and differently-abled persons on a par with beneficiaries in neighbouring states and formulating clear policies for contract-based workers to prevent their exploitation, arbitrary dismissals and delays in salary payment.
“All public welfare matters will be addressed promptly, and the UT Administration will ensure that every citizen receives the true benefits of government schemes,” Prasad assured the delegation.
