To provide relief to thousands of employees drawing salary at the DC rates, the UT Administration has enhanced the rates by an average 5% for the fiscal 2025-26. In some cases, the hike is 20-25%.

These rates will be available for adoption by all government offices, boards, corporations, PSU and autonomous bodies of the Chandigarh Administration with retrospective effect from April 1.

Nearly 20,000 contractual and outsourced employees working with various departments would be benefited from the order issued by the DC today.

A beldar drawing Rs 21,600 per month will now get Rs 22,680, and an AC operator will get Rs 25,433 against Rs 24,222 he had been drawing. Ayushman Mitra, who was getting Rs 24,222, will now draw Rs 30,850, while a book binder will get Rs 30,850 against Rs 25,791. An eye technician drawing Rs 18,058 will now get Rs 25,433 while a clerk-cum-receptionist would be paid Rs 30,850 against Rs 25,791.
