Chandigarh:UT Adviser Manoj Parida today requested the Mayor to ask all councillors to help residents in sealing the sectors. “Madam Mayor, please put in a word to all councillors to lead and help residents in sealing colonies/areas/villages till May 3 in coordination with the local police,” Parida posted on Twitter. Mayor Raj Bala Malik said she was going to ask all councillors to come forward. “It is required and we will support the move of sealing the sectors to help contain the spread of the virus,” she told The Tribune. In some areas, the drive has already started. Sector 30 has been sealed by the authorities after positive cases were reported. Residents have themselves sealed Sector 40. They are conducting thermal screening and using sanitisers on everyone entering or exiting the sectors. A group of residents is keeping a check on all entry points. TNS
