The SDM began the inspection from Sector 19, where he closely examined the cleanliness of local drains and also assessed the condition of the roads. He then proceeded to inspect the drainage system at Phase 2 Abheypur, near MDC, and addressed the issue of blockages in Old Panchkula, instructing officials to speed up the cleaning work.

Following this, he reviewed the state of the Ghaggar river, including areas like Beed Ghaggar and Sukhdareshanpur. The visit aimed to ensure timely desilting and blockage removal to prevent waterlogging and flooding during heavy rains.

It is worth noting that just a day earlier, Deputy Commissioner Monika Gupta had chaired a meeting with officials, instructing them to complete the desilting of drains in a timely manner and to put all necessary flood-control arrangements in place. Kataria was specifically assigned the responsibility of overseeing the implementation of these instructions.

Accompanying the SDM on the inspection were Naib Tehsildar Hardev Singh and SDO of the Irrigation Department, Mohit Kumar, among others.
