Nine-year-old Akamjot has bagged gold medals in the two-day inter-state skating championship that concluded on January 17.

Akamjot, a student of Rayat Bahra International School, Mohali, bagged gold in Rink 1, Rink 2 and in Road lap categories.

Hailing from Kharar, Akamjot started skating at the age of 6 years. Till date, he has won 14 gold, two silver and two bronze medals in inter-school, inter-district and inter-state categories. He gave the credit of his success to his grandfather Gurcharan Singh Saini and his coach Amanvir Singh.
