Akul Bhanot played a fine 94-run innings as DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, logged a 159-run win over DC Montessori School, Mani Majra, at the ongoing boys’ U-17 interschool cricket tournament.
Batting first, the Sector 8 team posted 199 runs with the help of Bhanot (94 off 28 balls) and Agamjot (36 off 17 balls). Daivik claimed three wickets, while Raunak grabbed two for the bowling side. In reply, the Mani Majra team posted 40 as Parv (8) and Aarav (3) contributed a major share. Arshdeep claimed four wickets and Aarav picked three for the bowling side.
Kundan International School, Sector 41, defeated Mount Carmel School, Sector 47, by 41 runs. Batting first, the Sector 46 team posted 116/1 as Bhavin (37) and Sambhav (33) scored majority of the runs. Tanshiq picked the only wicket for the bowling side. In reply, the Sector 47 team were bundled out at 75. Chitransh (28) and Ikjot (20) scored runs for the side. Aardhya and Sambhav picked two wickets each for the bowling side.
Government Model High School (GMHS), Sector 42, recorded a six-point win over the GMHS, Sector 7, during the boys’ U-17 interschool kho-kho tournament. GMHS, Sector 32, defeated Modern Ways School, Sector 29, by five points.
In the boys’ U-14 event, MDAV School, Sector 8, logged a 9-0 win over Shishu Niketan School, Sector 43. MDAV School defeated Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 33, by one point in the boys’ U-19 event.
DAV School, Sector 8, won the boys’ U-19 table tennis meet by logging a 3-0 win over DC Montessori School. St Anne’s School, Sector 32, won the third position by defeating GMSSS, Sector 16, 3-1. DAV School, Sector 8, defeated Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 33, by 2-0 in the interschool tennis tournament. Delhi Public School, Sector 40, defeated St Soldier’s School, by 2-1 in another match.
The boys’ U-17 baseball team of GMSSS, Sector 10, defeated St Anne’s School to win the title. Ryan International School, Sector 49, claimed the third place by defeating GMSSS, Sector 33, 1-0.
