Amid the growing crisis of waste management, Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi today met the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) officials demanding that land be given for garbage dumping within the next 15 working days. Failing this, he warned, he would be forced to stage a protest outside the GMADA Chief Administrator’s office.

Several councillors across partylines have echoed similar seniment regarding worsening garbage disposal crisis from time to time.

Bedi today met GMADA Chief Administrator Vishesh Sarangal and handed him a written letter. He further stated that the Chief Administrator has assured him of prompt action after receiving a report from the Chief Engineer.
