In view of the nation’s fight against Covid-19, the Ambala Division of the Northern Railways decided to close all unreserved ticket counters, along with all catering units and parcel and luggage activities, till March 31.

However, goods activities will be operational as per necessity and requirement for essential supplies and passenger reservation system will remain open for rendering minimum services only and providing refund for the cancelled trains. However, passengers are advised not to visit stations to practice social distancing as refund rules have been relaxed.

In a statement issued here, Ambala Division authorities said bare minimum staff would be deployed only for counselling and for the convenience of stranded passengers if any and staff that remain idle due to suspension of train operation activities had been advised to work from home and remain alert in exigencies. — TNS
