Mohali’s Ananya, a student of The Gurukul School, won gold medal at the National Weightlifting Championship in Patna.

She lifted a total weight of 150kg to win the top honour. Her total score of 63/72 in the cleaner category strengthened her position. Ananya expressed her gratitude to her coaches, supporters and the people of Punjab.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
