Angad clinches gold at pickleball tourney

Angad Singh, Kanvar Verma and Gurgeet Singh claimed first three positions, respectively, in the boys’ U-14 category of the 2nd Chandigarh State Pickleball Tournament, organised by the Pickleball Association of Chandigarh.

In the boys’ U-14 doubles event, the pair of Angad Singh and Gurgeet Singh bagged the first position, followed by Inderveer Singh and Kanvar Verma at second position, and the team of Devyansh Nagpal and Kabir Sehgal at third. Abhay Veer Balhara won the boy’s U-19 gold medal by defeating Shaurya Veer Balhara. Vardaan Dixit claimed the third position.

In the doubles event, Japnaam Singh and Abhay won the first position, followed by Vansh and Vardaan Dixit at the second.

In the 19+ singles, Karanvir Marwah, Kanu Malviya and Ryan Gandhi won first three positions, respectively, and in the doubles category, Ashley Arora and Karanvir Marwah finished at first position. Deepanshu Mahajan and Himnish Ghai claimed second, followed by the pair of Krishna Sharma and Pratham Sahni at third.

Nehal Tageja won the women’s +19 event, followed by Shastta Handa at second and Ravneet Kaur at third. Whereas, in the doubles category, Khushi Sharma and Treepti Dang won the gold medal by defeating Shubhangi Singh and Avreet Dhillon.

In the men’s 35+ singles event, Sunny Tambi defeated Varun Garg for claimed the top podium position, and Shalabh Jain finished at third spot. Whereas in the doubles final, the team of Shalabh and Sunny Tambi defeated Ankit Vinaik and Ankush Vinaik. Anand Gupta and Anand Gupta (junior) won third position. Ashley Arora defeated Gurmanbir Singh to win the men’s open event, followed by Nitin Gupta at third position.

In the men’s doubles event, Mankirat Singh Sobti and Akshay Negi won the gold medal by defeating Pratham Sahni and Krishna Sharma. Kanish Gupta and Bhuan Sahni claimed the third position. In the mixed doubles final, the team of Ryan Gandhi and Zoya Ramzan defeated Mansehaj Singh and Ashmeet Kaur to finish first. Akash Dhingra and Nehal Tageja ended up their campaign at third spot.
