Anil Vij inspects flood preparedness in Ambala
Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij today inspected several areas to review flood control measures in Ambala Cantonment.
During the inspection, the Energy Minister appeared angry over shortcomings in various works related to flood control. He reprimanded officials and contractors, saying that all work must be completed on time, otherwise the strictest action would be taken.
Vij also asked the Deputy Commissioner Ajay Tomar to reinspect the points identified in today's inspection in the coming days.
According to information, the minister started his inspection from 12 Cross road at Gudgudia Nala (nullah), where construction work of a culvert was found progressing slowly. The contractor is building three water outlets at this place, out of which two were found blocked, which angered Minister Anil Vij. He directed Municipal Council officers to immediately remove construction material from the drain so that water drainage worked properly during the rains and gave directions for strict action against the contractor.
