Earlier, the highest vaccination was recorded at 14,618 on August 14. UT Health Secretary Yashpal Garg said, “The response to the Covid vaccination from children in the age group of 15 to 18 is highly encouraging. Apart from six permanent vaccination centres at health facilities, 10 special vaccination camps have been arranged in schools in co-ordination with the Education Department. Some existing Covid vaccination centres for adults may be converted as vaccination centres for children next week to accelerate the pace of vaccination. All efforts are being made to provide the first dose to targeted children in the age group of 15 to 18 this month itself.”

Garg said, “With the current pace of vaccination, it is expected that 100 per cent vaccination with the second dose for the target adult population may be achieved within a week. All eligible adult persons are requested to immediately get themselves vaccinated.”
