Mohali, May 29
Two Covid-19 positive cases were reported from Mohali today, taking the total count in the district to 112.
An NRI, who had recently returned from Oman and landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, and a 29-year-old pregnant woman, who was admitted to Army Hospital at Ambala Cantt, tested positive today.
The NRI, a resident of Dasmesh Nagar in Zirakpur, is the second NRI to have tested positive for the virus in district in the past two days. He reached Delhi on May 22 and came to Zirakpur by road.
The Civil Surgeon, Dr Manjit Singh, said the NRI was in quarantine at a hotel and had now been shifted to Gian Sagar Hospital near Banur.
Dr Manjit Singh said, “Of the 112 cases reported from the district so far, 102 have recovered, while three have died. Mohali has a recovery rate and fatality rate of 95.3 per cent and 2.8 per cent, respectively.” — TNS
