Chandigarh: Even though Panjab University is shut down, Ritika Verma, NSS volunteer from Department of Anthropology, took an initiative to sensitise people from villages. Her ‘Covid Mukhat Abhiyan’, with the help of the Health Centre Staff in Mohali, is a push forward to the NSS motto, ‘NOT ME, BUT YOU’. She has been creating awareness on Covid since Panjab University halted the ongoing classes. She has been telling people about symptoms such as cold, cough and fever causing joint pain and breathing problems. To control the epidemic, she is asking people to take preventive measures such as frequent hand wash for at least 20 seconds, covering full hand, covering mouth in arms instead of hand while coughing and sneezing, use of sanitiser if water is unavailable, avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth and maintaining social distancing. She is appealing people to follow the government guidelines and take part in the Janata Curfew proposed by the Prime Minister of India on March 22. TNS
