Anti-encroachment drive at Sector 11 in Panchkula

The Haryana Shahri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) removed many encroachments at Sector 11 during an anti-encroachment drive here today. According to HSVP officials, shopkeepers had extended their shops and encroached upon the area in the marketplace.

The Estate Officer, HSVP, Mamta Sharma, said, “We have intensified our anti-encroachment drive. We won’t allow any kind of encroachments on footpaths and roads.”

Meanwhile, the drive is turning out to be a headache for street vendors, who alleged that it had snatched their only source of livelihood.

Soon, the Panchkula Municipal Corporation will conduct draw of lots for 458 vending sites for vendors at Sector 19.
