Anupriya defeated Jasleen Kaur 21-8 21-5 to storm into the girls’ U-13 final in the ongoing Yonex Sunrise Chandigarh State (U-13, U-15 and U-17) Badminton Championship for Boys and Girls at the Sector 38 Sports Complex. Anupriya will be facing Vanshika Sharma, who defeated Samriddhi Shastri 21-10, 21-9, in the title clash.

Shagunpreet Kaur meanwhile faced a tough resistance before registering a 21-13, 20-22, 21-17 win over Jasmeet Kaur in the girls’ U-15 semi-finals. The second semi-finals also witnessed a neck-to-neck fight as Nimar Kaur Virk defeated Rakshita Pahwa 21-13, 20-22, 21-12.

In the girls’ U-17 category, Rijul Saini confirmed her berth in the final by defeating Samreen Kaur 21-11, 19-21, 21-10.

Top seed Uday Rana defeated Aditya Kohli 21-14, 21-10, while Suryansh Raghav registered a comeback 18-21, 21-13, 21-17 victory over Dakshmeet Singh in the boys’ U-13 semis.

In girls’ U-15 doubles semis, Aishvani Sood and Avishi Sood ousted Aujasvi Dhaneswar and Jaskamal 21-19, 21-18 and Rassia Bhanot and Tanvi Guptagot the better of Gurmant Kaur and Rakshita Pahwa 17-21, 21-14, 21-18.

In the girls’ U-17 category, Mili Verma managed to defeat Rakshita Pahwa 17-21, 21-9, 21-14.

Samarveer defeated Jayan Garg 16-21, 21-7, 22-20 and Deepinder Bawa ousted Sidharth Modi 21-15, 21-17 in the boys’ U-17 semi-finals.

Aditya Kohli and Suryansh Raghav outplayed Hardev Singh and Rana Rudrapartap 21-5, 21-10 to face Divyansh Saxsena and Uday Rana, who defeated Dakshmeet Singh and Vaibhav Giri 21-13, 21-17, in the boys’ doubles U-13 final. Piyush Chauhan recorded a hard-fought victory over Akul Malik 21-11, 18-21, 21-9 in the first boys’ U-15 semi-finals. Vaibhav M won the other semis by defeating Krishna Sharma 21-14, 21-13.

In the girls’ doubles U-13 semis, Jasleen Kaur and Vanshika Sharma defeated Manisha and Pritibha Ranga 21-11, 18-21, 21-19 and the pair of Anupriya and Ridhima Saini outplayed Anika Sharma and Ishveen 21-11, 21-6.

mixed doubles final

In the mixed doubles U-17 event, Sarthak Madaan and Khawish defeated Udayveer and Aashna Jagdev 21-10, 15-21, 21-17. Sidharth Modi and Samreen Kaur won the second semis by defeating Sahil Chaudhary and Mannat Saini 21-18, 24-22. In the boys’ U-15 doubles semis, Krishna Sharma and Rehaan Phutela defeated Akul Malik and Piyush Chauhan 21-19, 21-17, while Abhiroop Sarkar and Vaibhav M outplayed Aditya Kohli and Suryansh Raghav 21-15, 21-10.

Atishya and Nimar Kaur Virk ousted Rehaan Phutela and Ashnoor Kaur 21-13, 21-13 in the mixed doubles U-15 semis. The pair will clash against the team of Akul Malik and Rakshita Pahwa in the final. Malik and Pahwa blanked Udit Raj Singh and Jasmeet Kaur 21-18, 21-13.

In the boys’ U-17 doubles semis, Deepinder Bawa and Jayan Garg registered a comeback 17-21, 21-19, 21-17 win over Kartikay Dhamija and Sahil Chaudhary, while Abhiroop Sarkar and Vaibhav M outplayed Ashwinpuri and Sidharth Modi 21-14, 19-21, 21-13.
