Hosts Dev Samaj College, Sector 45, defeated Government College, Sector 42, by 34 runs in a Senior State Cricket Tournament match here today.

Batting first, Dev Samaj girls made 128/3 in 20 overs. Aradhana Bist scored an unbeaten 71, while Palak added 24 runs to the hosts’ total. Bhawana claimed two wickets.

In reply, Government College, Sector 42, were bowled out for 94 runs. Swati made 37, while Ruby contributed 22 runs to the chase. Simran took two wickets, while Eknoor bagged one wicket for the hosts.

In another match, Prudential Cricket Club (PCC) defeated Dev Samaj School, Sector 21, by eight wickets.

Chasing 79 runs for victory, PCC girls scampered home in 11.3 overs, with Anu hitting a quick-fire 31.

Earlier, Dev Samaj School were all out for 78 runs. Sangeeta claimed six wickets for PCC. Sakshi (22) was the top scorer for Dev Samaj School. — TNS
