The police arrested a wanted criminal carrying a reward of Rs 5,000 in connection with multiple cases of arms trafficking and other offences.
ACP (Crime) Arvind Kamboj said a team headed by Sub-Inspector Pritam, with ASI Dhaniram and other members, apprehended the accused from Lakkar Mandi, Yamunanagar.
The accused has been identified as Farman, 27, a resident of Purana Hamida, Yamunanagar. He faces charges under sections 182, 211, 120-B, and 201 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita as well as the Arms Act at Raipur Rani Police Station.
Besides, he has five prior cases under the Arms Act and has been booked for harbouring a murder accused in both Panchkula and Yamunanagar. Farman has been remanded to four days’ police custody for interrogation. Police are questioning him to gather further details about his associates.
