In a significant breakthrough under Operation Trackdown, the police have made three key arrests in separate operations — an illegal arms supplier, a drug peddler in possession of 508 grams of charas, and the ringleader of a notorious buffalo theft gang wanted in more than ten cases across Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
In the first case, the Detective Staff team, led by Inspector Mandeep Singh, arrested an illegal arms supplier during a late-night operation on the Pinjore-Baddi road.
The accused, identified as Amandeep Chaudhary, son of Harpal Singh and a resident of Pinjore, was found carrying a country-made revolver. Police records revealed that Chaudhary already faced serious charges, including attempt to murder and arms trafficking.
He will be produced in court and remanded to police custody to determine the source of the weapon and whether it was intended for sale or criminal use.
In the second case, acting on a tip-off, the police arrested Rajendra, son of Krishan Chand from Solan, Himachal Pradesh, after recovering 508 grams of charas from his possession.
The accused has been placed on three-day police remand to trace the primary supplier and his distribution network. Police have appealed to the public to report any drug-related information on helpline numbers 7087081100 and 7087081048, assuring that informants’ identities will remain confidential.
In the third case, a special team traced and arrested Mohammad Munsad, son of Mohammad Inaam, from Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, the suspected leader of a buffalo theft gang.
The gang allegedly scouted villages under the guise of selling clothes and carried out buffalo thefts at night using pick-up vehicles. Munsad, who faces over ten cases in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, has been remanded to eight days of police custody for further questioning and identification of accomplices.
The police said the ongoing Operation Trackdown would continue with a focused drive to eliminate crime.
