All arrangements for the state-level Republic Day function at Government College, Phase 6, are in place, the district administrative authorities claimed.
Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh will hoist the Tricolour at the venue.
Mohali Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan said all arrangements had been made for the state-level function to make it a memorable one. “Senior officials are on the job to review all preparations and various cultural performances by different teams of the Punjab Police, NCC, students, artistes, etc. A contingent of the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Punjab Police will also be a part of the Republic Day parade,” Dayalan said.
The contingent was constituted by Punjab Police ADGP Rakesh Chandra and would be commanded by ASI Gurlal Singh, he said.
The spectators will witness tableaus, colourful cultural programmes based on nationalism, patriotic theme, local folks and culture at the function, which will conclude with the prize distribution ceremony.
According to police authorities, there will a three-tier security cover at the venue. “Special nakas will be laid on roads around the venue. A large number of police posse will be deputed in and around the venue to keep a close eye on law and order situation,” the police said.
23 to get commendation certificates on D-Day
