Arrest warrants against Selvel directors recalled

The CBI Court has ordered recalling of arrest warrants issued against the directors of M/s Selvel Media Services Limited, Jimmy K Subawalla and Bishwadeep Dutt.
Subawalla and Dutt had on October 7 filed an application before the court for recalling the non-bailable warrants issued against them.
“Keeping in view their presence (in court) today and the fact that earlier also these accused had been regularly appearing in the court, their application is allowed and warrants of arrest issued against them are ordered to be recalled,” read an order issued by Jagjit Singh, Special Judge, CBI Court.
The CBI Court had issued the non-bailable warrant against Subawalla and Dutt on October 6 after they failed to appear before the court.
The CBI had registered a case against the accused in 2014 for allegedly causing loss to the Municipal Corporation.
The case was registered against the then superintendent engineer and officials of the company entrusted with the responsibility to maintain public toilets.
Meanwhile, the court heard the arguments on the application moved by the then superintendent engineer for discharge under Section 227 of the CrPC.
The court adjourned the case for October 21, for remaining arguments on the application.
