Chandigarh, March 22
The 50th All-India Bhaskar Rao Nritya and Sangeet Sammelan’s concluding day was studded with a soulful vocal and incredible Bharatnatyam and kathak dance presentations at the Tagore Theatre here today.
After a reposeful “aalap”, Poornima Kulkarni presented raga Puriya Kalyan in bandish “ovan lagi sanjh bhai” in vilambit ek taal. Her next rendering was drut bandish with bols “ Dhan dhan tero bhag” followed by a tempting Tarana. She left a mark on the audience with rendition of concluding composition in Hori with bols “ Khele Nandlal sang rangbhari hori” was well received. She was well accompanied by Durjay Bhaumik on tabla and Paromita Mukherjee on harmonium.
Thereafter, the team of celebrated Bharatnatyam Guru Kamilini Dutt took the centre stage. They presented “Rangoantaratma”, a journey of Nada, Bindu, Kala and Rasa through their incredible dance performance. This concept was based on Shiv tatva in which the Shakti and birth of nature and utmost bliss of life was presented with fine footwork, beautiful movements and soulful expressions. They spellbound the audience with their abhinaya and nritya. — TNS
