Aryan Arora and Samarbir Singh stunned top seed Sartha Gandhi and Aditya Chauhan 6-1, 5-7 (10-3) to sail into the boys’ U-18 doubles final in the ongoing Roots AITA CS (7) National Ranking Championship at Zirakpur today. They will be facing Rishi Dahiya and Madhav Sharma, who also upset second seed Dhairya Chadha and Aarush Sharma 7-5, 5-7 (10-5).

In the girls’ U-18 doubles semifinals, Diva Bhatia and Rubani Sidhu defeated Harnoor Sudhu and Shriya Singh 7-5, 6-0, while Ruma Gaikaiwari and Suhani Sabharwal overpowered Riya Kaushik and Anusha Verma 6-1, 6-2.

Meanwhile, in the boys’ U-18 quarterfinals, top seed Sarthak Gandhi defeated Abhishek Mohapatra 6-1, 7-5. Second seed Aryan Thakur also marched ahead after defeating Rakshit Dhankar 6-3, 6-0. Debasis Sahoo defeated Sarthak Arora 6-3, 6-2 and Samarbir Singh outplayed Aryan Arora 6-2, 6-2 in other matches.

In the girls’ U-18 category, Riya Kaushik registered an easy 6-1, 6-4 win over Suhani Sabharwal, whereas Diva Bhatia blanked Tamanna Narwal 6-1, 6-1. Ruma Gaikaiwari blanked Sanvi Garg 6-1, 6-1 and second seed Harnoor Kaur ousted Bhumi Kakkar 6-1, 6-1. — TNS
