Assembly elections: Over 4.38 lakh to cast vote in Panchkula district

Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Dr Yash Garg today said the election office has prepared the voter list of Kalka and Panchkula Assembly constituencies. There are total 4,38,245 voters in the two constituencies, including 2,29,462 males, 2,08,760 females and 23 third gender voters.

Dr Garg said there were 2,02,052 voters in the Kalka Assembly, including 1,05,281 male voters, 96,756 female voters and 15 third gender voters. In the Panchkula constituency, there were 2,36,193 voters, including 1,24,181 males, 1,12,004 females and eight third gender voters.

The polling will take place in the two constituencies on October 5 from 7 am to 6 pm.

Dr Garg said there were total 10,784 voters in the age group of 18 to 19 years, out of which 5,131 are in Kalka and 5,653 in Panchkula. As many as 11,461 voters are above 80 years of age, including 4,425 in Kalka and 7,036 in Panchkula.

166 centenarian voters

There are 166 voters in the age group of more than 100 years, out of which 84 are registered in Kalka and 82 in Panchkula segment.

Over 2,000 divyangs

The district has total 2,472 divyang voters. Of these, 1,218 are in Kalka and 1,254 in Panchkula. As many as 303 voters are blind, with 145 of them in Kalka and the remaining 158 in Panchkula.
