The Joint Teachers Association (JTA) met Rajya Sabha Member Satnam Singh Sandhu and demanded dearness allowance (DA) for the employees working in Samagra Shiksha.
JTA chairman and Punjab and Haryana Welfare Employees, UT Chandigarh, president Ranbir Jhorar and JTA general secretary and All India Samagra Shiksha general secretary Ajay Sharma said there were about 1,300 employees working in Samagra Siksha.
They hoped that as Sandhu had helped in getting released increased salary of computer teachers earlier, in the same manner he would also contribute to addressing this legitimate demand of the employees working in Samagra Shiksha.
They also thanked him for the issuance of letter pertaining to DA for the employees from Punjab and Haryana working on deputation with the Chandigarh Administration.
After the letter of DA is issued, about 1,500 employees will get financial benefit, they added.
