Home isolation patients ending up at emergencies

Experts have warned about the severities developing in Covid-19 cases between the 7th and the 12th day.

A doctor from the GMCH-32, requesting anonymity, said, “All our Covid care centres are lying empty as more patients are opting for home isolation. But, there is more to the recoveries than meets the eye. Our emergencies are full as morbidity and severity of cases have increased. Suddenly, people are developing breathlessness and pain in chest. There is an evident rise in moderate to severe cases in the city now.”

He said, “Every day, we are admitting four to five patients in emergencies, who were in home isolation. We send our rapid response team immediately after receiving calls from patients. The problem arises between the 7th and 12th day.”
