Athletic meet: Gold for Ritik in javelin throw
Chandigarh, January 18
Ritik Mann claimed gold medal in the boys’ U-8 javelin throw event, during the opening day of the Chandigarh North District Athletics Championship at Sector 7 Sports Complex.
Mann claimed the top honour with a 10.86m throw. Gaurav (7.65m) and Vansh (7.06m) claimed second and third position, respectively. In the boys’ 30m race, Prabhjot Singh (5.76), Marvin Verma (6.04s) and Rehansh (6.27s) claimed medals. In the 30m race of the girls’ U-8 category, Alisha Roy (8.69s), Harnaaz (9.04s) and Mannat (9.83s) bagged medals. In the 50m event, Alisha Roy, Harnaaz and Mannat claimed top three positions, respectively.
Kriansh (8.00s), Nishant (8.26s) and Utkersh (8.54s) won medals in the 50m event of the boys’ U-10 category, while Vanya (9.38s), Samridhi (8.65s) and Himanshi (9.60s) claimed medals. In the 80m event of the girls’ U-19 category, Samreen Saini (13.31s), Vanya (13.38s) and Himashi (14.31s) won top three positions.
