City residents will soon have the convenience of accessing a range of financial services at e-Sampark centres.

The UT Administration has decided to increase the number of services provided at the centres. Starting next week, citizens can open demat accounts and National Pension System (NPS) accounts at any of the 45 e-Sampark centres across the city. In addition to these financial services, residents can also obtain bonds, including RBI Floating Rate Savings Bond, capital gain bonds and sovereign bonds.

After getting approval from the higher authorities, it was decided to introduce these financial services from the next week. The move aims to facilitate the common man by centralising various services in one location, making it more convenient for residents to handle their financial transactions.

Currently, all 45 e-Sampark centres are operational from 8 am to 8 pm, providing a broad spectrum of services to the public. The additional financial services will contribute to the existing 108 services available at these centres.

To further streamline accessibility, the UT Administration had implemented doorstep delivery of various services provided at the Sampark centres. Residents can avail themselves of services at home by booking appointments through the e-Sampark website, mobile app or a toll-free number.

There is a nominal fee structure for these doorstep services. The initial service at home costs Rs 200, inclusive of taxes, and subsequent transactions during the same visit entail a Rs 100 charge, inclusive of taxes. These charges are in addition to any other fee levied by the Administration.

The e-Sampark centres have been pivotal in offering a range of services over the years, from birth and death certificates to payment of utility bills, booking of various facilities and handling tax-related matters. The centres accept payments through multiple channels, including debit and credit cards, demand drafts, and cheques. Online payments can be made on the official e-Sampark website.
